The Regulatory Transparency Project (RTP) partnered with Motivo Media to create a compelling, thought-provoking documentary that delves into the complex world of cryptocurrency and its effects on monetary systems in the United States and beyond.

The Challenge: Capturing Multiple Perspectives on Cryptocurrency Regulation

In order to paint the most well-rounded picture of cryptocurrency regulation, we needed to find the top experts on the subject. After an exhaustive search across universities, think tanks, forums, and more, we narrowed down our list to the perfect cast of policy experts, CEOs, and professors—all with varying and sometimes opposing perspectives on the role cryptocurrency plays in our current monetary structure—including the CEO of Kraken Bank, a leader in the cryptocurrency financing space Caitlin Long, and the Director at Duke Financial Economics Center. 

Once we confirmed the lineup, we began filming in various locations across the U.S., including Washington, D.C., Portland, OR, and Cheyenne, WY, the central story location for the project. Aside from conducting interviews with each speaker, we captured b-roll at a Cheyenne rodeo, even recording spontaneous interviews with locals, and witnessed the creation of a cryptocurrency-inspired mural by artist Jordan Dean! 

In post-production, we dove into the footage we gathered, optimizing every frame to paint the best visual narrative, and weaving the interview highlights with scripted narration. We worked with a talented team of editors, writers, and graphic designers to bring the film together by custom-designing motion graphics, writing and recording compelling voice-over, and creating a cohesive look and feel to the piece as a whole.

RESULT

A 25-minute short documentary was featured on RTP’s website, and is currently making waves in the festival circuit. Its thought-provoking content and visually captivating narrative have sparked essential conversations among viewers, fostering a deeper understanding of cryptocurrency regulations and their impact on our global economy.
